Silent Droplets In normal operation, A Better Finder Rename may present you with a variety of interactive dialogs during the rename phase. Depending on your settings, you may be prompted to confirm each individual rename, be shown a summary of how many files were renamed at the end of the renaming phase, or you may potentially be asked to resolve file name conflict manually. When you want to run a droplet as part of a fully automated workflow, these interactive dialogs may block your entire workflow. In these situations, the "silent" droplets may prove useful. A "silent" droplet will execute without prompting you for any interaction, no matter what. It overrides the "Show confirmation dialog before renaming" and the "Show summary after renaming is complete" checkboxes and disables the manual conflict resolution dialog. This mode does not affect interactive (non-droplet) use. Using this mode will make it difficult to "debug" problems with your workflow as the droplet will silently fail without providing you with any information of what, if anything, has gone wrong. You may thus find it useful to disable the silent mode for debugging purposes. You can create silent droplets by ticking the "Create silent droplets" check box in the "Advanced Options" section. If you want to enable or disable the feature after you have created droplet, you may do so by ticking or unticking the "Execute as silent droplet" check box while editing the droplet. |
