Troubleshooting
I don’t think I have as many Noise Machine sounds as I should have
Due to file size concerns, the full range of sounds offered by Noise Machine isn’t included with Vitamin-R by default. If you don’t see twenty-nine sound choices in Vitamin-R’s Sound menu, download Noise Machine (free for all registered Vitamin-R users) from http://www.publicspace.net/NoiseMachine/. Install Noise Machine in the standard Applications folder, and Vitamin-R will automatically detect and register the newly available sounds that come with Noise Machine. Noise Machine does not have to be running to play the sounds it provides; playback is handled by Vitamin-R.
I have a problem not discussed here
If you’re experiencing a problem with Vitamin-R, we are always happy to help.
When preparing to contact us for technical support, it is often helpful to send some basic information about your system, the Vitamin-R version you are running, and perhaps supplemental information, depending on what kind of problem you’re having. For example, if the application is crashing during launch, it is sometimes helpful to provide, in addition to the crash report, the output of Apple’s Console utility generated during the period of the crash. Providing a solid groundwork of information will expedite your support experience by eliminating unnecessary delays between communications.
To contact us for technical support, send an e-mail to support@publicspace.net, including “x14” somewhere in the subject line (this makes sure your message gets through our spam filters).
I want Vitamin-R to start automatically when I start my Mac
With Vitamin-R running, go to its dock item and click and hold the icon for a few seconds until a popup menu appears.
Select “Options”, then “Open at Login”.
Vitamin-R will now start automatically at launch time.
I’m having trouble quitting Vitamin-R
Vitamin-R is available from any application via the (R) icon in the right-hand section of the main Mac OS X menu bar.
We recommend that, instead of quitting Vitamin-R when you temporarily do no require it anymore, you hide the application instead so that it remains available via the menu bar icon.
When you try to quit Vitamin-R, a dialog will appear explaining all this and allowing you to either hide or quit the application. You can disable this behavior by ticking the “Do not show this message again” checkbox in the dialog. The program will then quit normally from that point on.
You can hide Vitamin-R in a number of different ways:
- the
Hide
button in the main Vitamin-R window - the
Command-H
keyboard shortcut, when Vitamin-R is the front-most application
