Dockless Operation
Out-of-the-box Vitamin-R 4 behaves like a normal application: it has a menu bar and appears in the “Dock” and the Command-Tab list.
Some users may, however, prefer to use Vitamin-R more like a menu bar accessory; such apps are called “Dockless” apps.
A dockless application is “hidden” behind an icon on the right side of the main menu bar. It appears neither in the “Dock”, nor the Command-Tab list. Even when its window is selected, it does not display its own menu bar.
When Vitamin-R 4 is running as a dockless app, only its (R) icon to the right of the menu bar is visible. It can be
activated by clicking on this icon or using the (configurable) Ctrl-R keyboard shortcut. Right-clicking on the icon
will show a menu of the most frequently used actions. All features that are usually available through the (now hidden)
menu bar, are available by clicking on the “wheel” button (aka the Command Window button).
