Getting Started

Using Better Rename from the Finder Context Menu

Rename selected files from the Finder: control-click them and choose Better Rename from the context menu to open them in the preview list.

This feature is only available if it was properly activated in the Services Preferences dialog.

Please follow these instructions to activate the context menu.

Once activated, proceed as follows:

  • Select the files that you want to rename in the Finder
  • Hold the Control key on your keyboard and click inside one of the selected file icons (if your mouse has a right mouse button, you can right-click instead)
  • The context menu will appear, select Better Rename…

The application will now launch automatically and the preview table will already contain all the selected files.
