A Better Finder Rename is a tool that allows you to rename multiple files simultaneously.

You can use it in a variety of different ways, but below we only describe the most common scenario to get you started:

• in the Finder select the files you want to rename and drag them into the preview window on the right of the main window
• select a category from the Category: popup menu
• select a renaming action from the Action: popup menu
• adjust the settings below those popup menu
• click on the Perform Rename button

Note that the available controls change when you select a new action and that the effect of your settings is immediately reflected in the Change to column of the preview table.
