Boring Old Menu Bar
De-Notch-ifier is now Boring Old Menu Bar.
De-Notch-ifier made the notch on MacBook Pro and MacBook Air screens disappear by putting a solid black menu bar across the top of the display. It was a pre-configured version of our Boring Old Menu Bar, and the two have now been folded into one app. De-Notch-ifier will no longer be updated. Boring Old Menu Bar does everything it did, on macOS 27 and on macOS 13 Ventura to 26 Tahoe, and it is the version we maintain.

Version 1.30 for macOS 27 Golden Gate, Apple silicon Macs. Version 1.28 for macOS 13 Ventura to 26 Tahoe, Intel and Apple silicon. Both have the same 14-day free trial; the download page lists every build.
To hide the notch, set Menu Bar Style to Black for light mode and for dark mode in the Boring Old Menu Bar window. That is all De-Notch-ifier ever did. Any other color, the divider line and the rounded screen corners are there too.

The two apps share one unlock code, so there is nothing to buy and no upgrade to pay for:
- install Boring Old Menu Bar and switch De-Notch-ifier off, then quit it
- right-click the Boring Old Menu Bar icon in the menu bar and choose Enter Unlock Code…
- paste the code from your De-Notch-ifier purchase email

Still running De-Notch-ifier?
It keeps working on the systems it was built for, but it takes screenshots of your wallpaper, which recent versions of macOS no longer allow, and nothing about it will be fixed. The troubleshooting page for macOS 11 to 26 still covers it, and its version history stays online.
